 Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (HLTFA404A)

About this Course
This course is V. E. T. A. B accredited as part of the Health Training package 07. The course is designed to further the participant’s skills and knowledge in resuscitation, mechanical equipment and become competent in administrating oxygen to a person who is either breathing or not breathing.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for those who are required to provide an advanced level of resuscitation and the provision of oxygen therapy until the arrival of medical assistance.

Course Content
The APPLY ADVANCED RESUSCITATION TECHNIQUES course covers the following topics:

  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and defibrillation.
  • Airway and Breathing Management
  • Assembly, preparation and the use of Oxygen
  • Assembly, preparation and the use of resuscitation equipment.
  • Cleaning of equipment and infection control.

Assessment
Competency will be assessed through the participant’s demonstration of practical skills and theoretical exam.

Prerequisites
Participants will have to provide a copy of their current Statement of Attainment for:

  • APPLY FIRST AID HLTFA 301B (achieved within last 3years) or 
  • HLTCPR201A – Perform CPR (achieved within the last 12 months) or  
  • HLTFA201A - Provide Emergency Life Support (achieved within the last 12 months).

Qualification
On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment from the National Health Training Package 07.

The unit of competency for this course is HLTFA404A – APPLY ADVANCED RESUSCITATION TECHNIQUES.

Course Delivery
4 hours (
The recommendation is for this course to be updated every 12 months).

Minimum numbers apply to all first aid training courses and are designed to be conducted onsite at your workplace.
