About this Course
This course is V.E.T.A.B accredited as part of the Health Training package 07. The course is designed to teach course participants the skills and knowledge required to perform resuscitation in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines 2006.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for all industry employees to achieve competence and confidence in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Course Content
The CPR course covers the following topics:
- Principles of First Aid
- Approach to an Incident
- Priorities of First Aid
- Airway and Breathing Management
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation including the demonstrated use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
Assessment
Competency assessed through participant’s demonstration of practical resuscitation skills.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course it is recommended, however that you maintain industry standards by maintaining this course every 12 months once completed.
Qualification
On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment from the national Health Training Package 07.
The unit of competency for this course is HLTCPR201A – Perform CPR.
Course Delivery
► 4 hours (Full Course) - for participants who do not hold a current CPR Statement of attainment.
► 2 hours (Refresher Course) - for participants who have obtained a CPR Statement of attainment within the last 12 months that wish to be reaccredited to industry standards every 12 months.
Minimum numbers apply to all first aid training courses and are designed to be conducted onsite at your workplace.
